Rhian Miers

Rhian Miers - Why I want to support our amazing Welsh communities
Rhian Miers has worked for ten years in the care sector while also bringing up her young nephew and she tells us why she wants to support her Welsh communities.
Rhian decided to work in the care sector as a young woman when her father passed away, and she saw a need for better quality care in the community.
Rhian’s early years in the care sector
Rhian began her career as a healthcare assistant, helping clients with basic and complex needs while also obtaining her Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care.
Rhian specialised in end-of-life care, dementia, and learning impairments.
Rhian worked as a care assistant for five years before moving up to the care supervisor’s position, where she was responsible for client care and support requirements.
The care supervisor role included:
- Supervising and mentoring care workers
- Welcoming new care workers and providing direct training
- Assisting clients with their inquiries
- Conducting spot inspections to ensure quality of care
Rhian Miers progression
Always eager to learn, Rhian’s knowledge of the Regulated Services (Service Providers and Responsible Individuals) (Wales) Regulations 2017 and Social Services and Well-being (Wales) Act 2014 is exceptional.
Rhian has also completed her Level 3 in Health and Social Care.
As a result of her hard work, Rhian was elevated to the position of care coordinator, a title that came with increased responsibility, including:
- Ensuring all activities, such as personal care and medication administration, were completed effectively by staff
- Adhering to necessary compliance standards
- Ensuring that staff provide clients with high-quality, person-centred care
- Budget management and ensuring the financial viability of staff rotas
- Ensuring compliance with health and safety regulations
- Keeping continuity in rota creation for care workers
- Liaising with community organisations and maintaining good relationships with stakeholders
During Rhian’s successful tenure as care coordinator, she expanded her skills in training, assessing, planning, and assisting employees in their ongoing professional development.

Rhian’s progression into management
Rhian went on to complete her City and Guilds (NVQ) Level 5 Diploma in Leadership in Health and Social Care and has since become a registered manager with Living at Home.
Never resting on her laurels, she recently completed her HABC Level 3 Award in Education and Training, HABC Level 3 in First Aid, and the Safely Moving People Level 2 Award from the HABC.
Rhian brings a vast amount of experience, passion, and leadership to the job.
She truly understands and appreciates every part of the care sector and the important role she plays in her clients’ lives.

“Make a difference,” Rhian Miers
There is no better feeling than making a positive impact on someone’s life.
The nicest thing about Living at Home is that it focuses on the individual, allowing us to spend meaningful time with those we help and support as if they were our own family.
Nothing beats sitting down at the end of a visit and listening to our fantastic clients tell us about their lives.

So, what does Rhian Miers do in her spare time?
Before joining the care sector, Rhian was the first female water jet-ski racer in Wales, and she was crowned British and European Junior Champion.
Living at Home knows they’ve got a great winner on their hands who takes initiative and wouldn’t ask anyone to do anything she wouldn’t do herself.
