They say “home is where the heart is”, and we at Living at Home keep our customers safe and cared for in their homes, led by the inspirational Living at Home team.

There’s no denying that the wonderful work of individuals in the care sector has been highlighted in recent times.

Our ageing and vulnerable communities would not be able to live safe and happy lives without the dedication of our care professionals across the sector.

Our employees are our company’s face, and it is our care professionals who allow our customers to remain independent in the comfort of their own homes.

Our employees make our customers smile, laugh, share stories, listen to stories, and sometimes wipe away tears.

At the same time, they give important care and support while also building and strengthening relationships.

Why work in the
care sector?

Join our Team FAQ's

Do I need a driving licence?

We do ask that our care professionals have a valid driver's licence and are able to drive their own car in most of our locations, because many of our customers live in remote areas.

However, in some areas, such as Swansea, we do welcome walkers and bikers – but it's important to double-check with our office before applying.

How long will it take for me to be able to begin?

It only takes a few minutes to complete our application.

After that, you'll have a brief phone conversation with one of our colleagues before being invited to a face-to-face interview.

Then, we'll run a few checks to make sure you're ready to work.

This stage can take a while due to the Disclosure Barring Service (DBS) check, but we'll be making all the necessary preparations in the background so you can start as soon as that stage is finished.

Is it possible for me to set my own hours?

Yes, all of our care professionals work flexible hours, and we'll arrange shifts around your routine.

You are free to work as much or as little as you choose, but we do ask that you let us know your availability ahead of time so that we can create a rota.

Is it necessary for me to have prior care experience in order to apply?

Whether you're a seasoned care professional or a first-time carer, Living at Home has a spot for you.

We'll be there for you from the minute you apply, through the training process, and into shadowing an experienced care professional until you're ready to take on your new responsibilities.

All we ask of you is a positive attitude and a passion for helping people.

How much money will I be paid?

Our rates start at £10.50 per hour if you are not registered with Social Care Wales£10.65 if you are registered with Social Care Wales, and £10.75 if you have an NVQ Level 3 in Health and Social Care qualification.

On weekends, we pay a flat rate of £13.00 per hour.

In addition to your hourly pay, you will be paid 30p per mile for travel between calls, and you will earn paid holidays.

We also pay you for all training requirements.

What are the opportunities for progression in my care career?

At Living at Home, we strive to promote from within wherever possible.

Many of our care professionals progress to positions such as senior care professionalssupervisors, care coordinators, branch managers, and even area care managers within the company.

You'll meet with your manager on a regular basis to review your progress and what you'd like to accomplish with Living at Home.

Many of our managers began their Living at Home careers as care professionals.

With Living at Home, anything is possible!
